The project area has approximate center coordinates of -82.969056 W, 35.517426 N. Maps of the project area are attached. The project will be federally funded with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) serving as the lead for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The project was reviewed under NCDOT’s programmatic agreement between the FHWA, NC Historic Preservation Office, and others. A determination of “no survey required” was assessed for this project. The report is included with this transmittal. In accordance with Section 106 of the NHPA, we request any pertinent comments that you may have, in particular information about 2 historic properties of traditional religious or cultural importance that may be in or near the project area. Be assured that, in accordance with confidentiality and disclosure stipulations in Section 304 of the NHPA, we will maintain strict confidentiality about certain types of information regarding historic properties.
