Inspection Summary:
On August 10, 2021, Division of Water Rexources staff Fred Oelrich met with ECU staff Derrick Anderson, Jesse Fields, and
Shannon Elks, for a compliance inspection of the subject facility. First covered during the inspection was a review of the
permit, grease education material, capital improvement plan, operation and maintenance requirements, system records and
reports, and the map of the collection system.
Following the paperwork review, an inspection of the downstream manhole of the Todd Dining Hall was conducted. In
addition, the aerial sewer line crossing Green Mill Run was inspected.
The inspection revealed that East Carolina University, operating under collection system permit number WQCS00244 is in
full compliance with State collection System Regulations

Comment: During a recent computer equipment changeout, the software for maintenance records was not
transferred. Therefore most of the old records were lost. Records are now being kept manually
until new software can be acquired.

Comment: This facility does not have any pump stations. All collected wastewater flows by gravity to pump
stations located off campus which are owned and operated by the Greenville Utilities
Commission (GUC). All of ECU's wastewater flows to and is treated at the GUC's WWTP.
