FYI,
Robert Ellis phoned to say that the aquatic toxicity for January 2007 "Passed" at
100%. This will bring up the average for the quarter to 55%, and that will keep
the Lauringburg WWTP out of the status of "Fail" for the quarter (which is usually
accompanied by a civil penalty from our Environmental Science Branch). November
resulted in a "Fail", and December resulted in a "Fail" at 10.9%. Mr. Ellis said
that he suspected that high ammonia at the effluent was the problem during November
and December. This facility has a 3,1% NPDES permit limit.

Robert,
Staff has reviewed the information submitted to us concerning the cooling water
from the Eaton Facility. From our review it does not appear that this water would
cause compliance issues with your NPDES permit discharge but as we discussed
earliertoday, it would be a good idea to complete some further testing to complete
your evaluation. If you need further assistance please contact our office.

Belinda,.
Here are the MSDS Sheets for the chemicals that Eaton uses in their cooling
tower. Also attached are the last two results of the water in the cooling
tower. Please let me know what your office thinks about' us allowing this into
our POTW.
Thanks,
Robert Ellis
