Grace drive provides access to a number of existing Industrial facilities with an anticipated expansion of the industrial sector in the near future.Aside from commercial and industrial land
uses are forested areas in various levels and stages of silvicultural management.

This project will widen Grace Drive(SR 1710),from a two-lane to a four-lane undivided roadway.The purpose of this project is to increase capacity to better accommodate existing
commercial traffic volumes as well as an anticipated increase in commercial traffic associated with a U.S.Forest products manufacturer slated to develop property along Grace Drive.

This project proposes to widen Grace Drive(SR 1710),from a two-lane to a four-lane undivided roadway.The purpose of this project is to increase capacity to better accommodate
both the existing commercial traffic volumes,as well as an anticipated increase in commercial traffic associated with a U.S.Forest products manufacturer slated to develop property
along Grace Drive.
Excavators and dump trucks will be utilized to engage in land clearing activities as needed within the right of way.Unsuitable materials will be removed and disposed of in an approved
site.Suitable materials will be brought in,placed,and graded to the designed width and elevation necessary to accommodate the widening of Grace Drive to a four-lane facility that
conforms with NCDOT Standards and Specifications.

During the design phase of this project the NCDOT Standards and Specifications for the construction of a four-land roadway were applied to ensure
that the final product was safe,stable,and functional.That design criteria best fits the anticipated traffic volumes for the roadway and ware not
intended to create a facility significantly beyond what was necessary to meet the anticipated needs.

To further meet the goal of minimization we are requesting approval for hand clearing in those areas where only temporary impacts are needed and
will refrain from any impacts that are deemed uneccessary during construction.
