This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NCG500635. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required. INGENCO Wholesale Power was found to be compliant under general permit #NCG500635. The facility utilizes a non -contact cooling tower that uses groundwater from a well onsite. Upon investigation and discussions with staff onsite, it was found that no additional chemicals or chlorine were added to the groundwater utilized by the cooling tower. However, the groundwater is processed by a water softener before use by the facility. It is also important to note that the facility discharges to a drainage ditch at a rate of roughly 10 GPM and the ditch does not appear to connect to any streams. The facility and cooling tower both appeared to be well maintained and in overall good condition. DEED Comment: Upstream and Downstream Temperature measurements were not obtained due to the facility discharging to a drainage ditch that does not appear to lead to a stream. Total Residual Chlorine and Chemical Oxygen Demand parameters were not sampled due to chlorine and chemical additives not being added to the groundwater water being used by the facility's cooling tower.
