Corey,
Attached is the updated site plan for Parkwood. We have deleted the baseball count, therefore reducing the proposed
impervious area. I have added an impervious calculation to the site plan showing no net increase of impervious area.
Please cancel our permit submittal.

Hi Clint,
Because this project is in the Waxhaw Creek Watershed, there are additional design requirements, including runoff
treatment, using infiltration systems whenever possible, and reducing peak flows. A low density approach will not be
allowed under these rules. The link to the Goose Creek Rules (which are also applicable to Waxhaw Creek) can be found
here.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Corey,
We wanted to send a quick follow up email to our email below and see if there may be a plan review /
permitting update available? We were not sure if you might be on vacation or not so wanted to send another
quick note just in case you were.
As previously mentioned, this is a project for Union County Public Schools to demolish the existing parking in
front of the Parkwood Middle School campus and re-construct a new parking lot with additional queuing along
the front of the campus.
The school apparently had a traffic incident last year where a traffic guard was injured which has led to the
expedited project schedule by the school system for public safety. Another factor we are fighting other than
safety concerns is also construction / school schedule as this project is only possible to be completed during
the school summer recess months.
All this said, the project is top priority for the school system, and we felt it was best to reach out so we can
provide accurate feedback for the anticipated permitting schedule.
The school board has a meeting next week where they are planning to award the project and of course
hopefully break ground shortly thereafter.

We felt we were ahead of the project schedule with permitting but unfortunately our original DEMLR
submittal by FedEx on 5-12-2021 was misplaced. Ms. Suzanne McCoy helped us out by searching for the
original submittal but said with many people working remotely it may have been lost in the shuffle. We resent
the project documents on 5-27-21 as requested.
Any information you could provide would be very helpful. We know everyone is swamped these days but are
sure the Owner (Union County Public Schools) would greatly appreciate any effort possible on DEMLR behalf
to assist with being able to complete the project this summer in hopes of reducing any further traffic incident
exposure.
Thanks again in advance,

Corey,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to follow up on a low-density parking lot and queuing improvement project that we
submitted for Union County Public School (Parkwood Middle School). The school system has bid the project and are
hoping to complete the work this summer prior to students returning. Can you provide an update on the
review/approval schedule?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
