The Scotland County Board of Commissioners
has agreed to build and furnish, at no cost to
the industry, •the following:
1. A 12" water line from the northwest corner of
the land under consideration to the Butler
property junction, which connects with the
Laurinburg-Maxton Airport water system.
2. A 12" water line from Duplan to the northwest
corner of the site under consideration, which
connects with the City of Laurinburg water
system. •
3. A 6" Water meter in a pit on the property
under consideration.
4. A retention pond for receiving waste from your
processing system, not less than three (3)
acres in size.
5. A sewage treatment plant for domestic waste
for 600 employees, initially, and up to 1200
employees after expansion.
It is my understanding that the sewage plant.
owned by the County will be ain1La1neLservjced

Dear Reese:
Regarding your requestthat the City of Laurinburg.assume
maintenance responsibility of a proposed "Package" domestic
sewage treatment plant for a:prospective industrial citizen of
Scotland County, this is to advise you that we have completed
our preliminary studyof this matter and do hereby pledge our
assistance. As you know, we- are .presently providing maintenance
service for other package plants: inour sewer .systefnand, to
date, we have encountered no problems in this arrangement.
Enclosed please find a suggested layout for botb.the
package plantand the proposed cooling basin. The location
of these units may beadjusted or changed if needed since our
main concern in theirplacement is that they be accessible
to our sewage :treatment .plant operators..
