As reported, there was some heavy rainfall and flooding conditions that caused excessive flow to Pump Station #2. During this flooding event, there were wipes, personal rags and other debris that was clogging the pumps and causing a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO). When this occurred we reported that there was a total of 700 gallons of Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) into nearby Scotts Creek. Upon discovery, TWSA took appropriate actions to remove the debris from the pump station as well as contain the SSO. Other TWSA employees and the TWSA pump truck was on site within 20 minutes to assist with the cleanup and to prevent further SSO at this location. This pump station is currently on our Capital Improvements Project list and has been approved by DWI (project # E-SRP-W-17-0055) for funding and will be going to construction soon. TWSA held a bid opening on July 14, 2021 and the project is to be awarded to the low bidder Frizzell Construction Company, Inc. in the near future.
