The purpose of the evaluation was to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit WQ0000224. Operators from Fortin Contract Service were present during the inspection. The current permit expires on October 31, 2021. A renewal application was received on August 6, 2021 and is under review. This facility is an extended aeration plant with high -rate infiltration and low pressure pipe, subsurface disposal systems. The average flow for this 52,950 gpd permitted facility in 2020 was approximatedly 4300 gpd. The rotary distributor system was replaced in 2019 and appears to be in good condition. A review of monitoring reports, since the last permit renewal, shows a daily fecal exceedance in June 2019 and a NOV issued for a monthly ammonia limit exceedance in August 2018. The GW-59s show limit exceedances in TOC and TDS in MW-4. The Wilmington Regional Office will continue to monitor this trend in MW-4. Although reported effluent nitrate is relatively high, there is no current permit limit for nitrate, and there were no nitrate 2L violations in any of the wells. The treatment plant is not designed for den itrification. The facility is compliant with Non -Discharge Permit WQ0000224. Please review the comment sections of the inspection report for more details.
