Dear Mr. Flaehmeyer:
The final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed
and found to be satisfactory. Authorisation is hereby granted for the construction
of a new 10,000 GPD extended aeration type wastewater treatment plant to act in
parallel with the existing 10,000 GPD wastewater treatment plant to form one system.
The combined units will use the existing lift station (dual pumps)oa new surge tank
(dual pumps), a comminutor and bypi.es screen, a flow divider, a 30 weir, parallel
10,000 gallon aerated treatment tanks, parallel clarifiers, parallel aerobic•eludge
digesters, alarm for blower failure, standby blowers, a solid type chlorination
system, and associated values, pipes, and fittings to serve Diamond Shamrock Corpora-
tion's Castle Mayne Plant's domestic facilities.
This is a Class II Wastewater Treatment Facility and the person in responsible
charge must hold a valid Grade II Certificate.
This Authorization to Construct shall be subject to revocation unless the waste-
water treatment facilities are constructed in accordance with the conditions and
limitations specified in Permit No. NC0003875.
