Wastewater Treatment Plant Modifications

Dear Mr. Brau:
The final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed
and found to be satisfactory. Authorization is hereby granted for the construction
of modifications to an existing 2.3 MCD wastewater treatment plant containing of
the addition of roughing pH adjustment, a new flow splitter, relocation of aerators
into aeration basins No. 1 and 2, modification of sludge piping, extension of
polymer feed system to a point prior to the clarifiers, the addition of a BC& injec-•
tion system, and other piping and valve modifications to Monsanto's Carodel Waste-
water Treatment Plant with the following conditions
1. No construction shall occur on the foam control box or outfall
pipeline in the wetlands of the Cape Fear River until a 404
permit from the Army Corps of Engineers (containing a 401
Certification from the State) is issued end an additional
Authorization to Construct is issued by the Division of
Environmental Management.
This Authorization to Construct shall be subject to revocation unless the waste-
water treatment facilities are constructed in accordance with the conditions and
limitations specified in Permit No. NC0003719.
One (1) set of approved plans and specifications is being forwarded to you.
