Pursuant to section A (1.) note 3 of Monsanto Company's NPDES permit for its
Fayetteville facility (#NC0003719), I am providing notice that on December 26, 2001,
Monsanto shutdown its Glyphosate production area and on March 1, 2003, Monsanto
completed cleanup of the Glyphosate production area. We are in the process of
collecting post -cleanup samples for Glyphosate. As provided in note 3, once we have
collected six consecutive samples over a three-month period resulting in non -detects for
Glyphosate, we will terminate this Glyphosate-monitoring regime. If you have any
