The narrative included an additional 0.01 acres of mech. clearing in wetlands and a reduction of 0.03 acres of permanent fill in wetlands. The revisions actually reduced the mech. clearing 0.02 acres and the permanent fill in wetlands 0.04 acres at Site 8. Sorry for the confusion, and I’ll update the request on Laserfiche in the near future. As for the mitigation, after looking at the original permit application, the stream impacts for Site 7 originally didn’t require mitigation. So I’m assuming the recent stream impacts from the channel relocations will not require mitigation. As for Site 8, since the “new” stream impacts are less than 300 linear feet, the stream impacts there shouldn’t require additional mitigation. The wetland impacts at Site 8 were reduced by 0.04 acres of perm. fill and 0.02 acres of mech. clearing. Those numbers have been rounded, so I believe wetland impacts that require mitigation should be reduced by 0.053 acres. Before I send anything to DMS to reflect any changes, do you agree with the above information? Should I wait to make any mitigation changes until the end of the project in case additional changes are made? Since it looks like NCDOT has a little bit of “credit” at this time, I’d like to leave the mitigation alone until the end of the project. Attached are the latest impact summary, the original impact summary, and the latest submittal. Thanks, Paul C. To minimize additional wetland impacts, rock plating and toe protection will be used on 2:1 fill slopes on the RCP and fill slope along the secondary stream. This revision at Site 8 will result in an additional 116 linear feet of permanent stream impacts, 16 linear feet of temp. stream impacts, 0.01 acres of perm. surface water impacts, and 0.01 acres of mech. clearing in wetlands. The revision will also result in a reduction of 0.03 acres of permanent fill in wetlands. Depicted in attached revised permit drawing. Additionally, the stream at Site 7 requires additional impacts for stream relocation and stream stabilization. Riprap stabilization for the main and secondary channels will result in an additional 41 linear feet of perm. stream impact. Depicted in attached revised permit drawing. * By checking the box and signing box below, I certify that: • I, the project proponent, hereby certifies that all information contained herein is true, accurate, and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief. • I, the project proponent, hereby requests that the certifying authority review and take action on this CWA 401 certification request within the applicable reasonable period of time. • I agree that submission of this online form is a "transaction" subject to Chapter 66, Article 40 of the NC General Statutes (the "Uniform Electronic Transactions Act"); • I agree to conduct this transaction by electronic means pursuant to Chapter 66, Article 40 of the NC General Statutes (the "Uniform Electronic Transactions Act"); • I understand that an electronic signature has the same legal effect and can be enforced in the same way as a written signature; AND • I intend to electronically sign and submit the online form.
