August 16, 2021 Jevon Morris, Owner Email: jevon_morris@yahoo.com SUBJECT: NOTICE OF DEFICIENCY Tracking Number: NOD-2021-PC-0433 Permit No. NCG550655 Laurel Creek Mobile Home Park Burke County Dear Permittee: The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted a site inspection of the Laurel Creek Mobile Home Park on July 7, 2021 and a follow up Health Department document request which was received on August 10, 2021. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NCG550655. A summary of the findings and comments noted during the inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report. The Compliance Evaluation inspection was conducted by Division of Water Resources staff from the Asheville Regional Office. The following deficiencies were noted during the inspection: Inspection Area Description of Deficiencies Effluent Sampling Flow needs to be measured. Record Keeping Flow rate was not available. Gallons per day of wastewater needs to be determined. The issues below must also be addressed: Required Actions: Burke County Health Department found no records associated with this site for any conventional septic systems having been installed. Eight trailers are onsite; five are rented. The NCG550655 Permit is for systems discharging no more than 1,000 gallons per day (GPD). A minimum of a week (7 days) of wastewater flow data from this system is to be determined and reported in GPD to the Asheville Regional Office by October 11, 2021. The Division of Water Resources may pursue enforcement action for this and any additional violations of State law. To prevent further action, carefully review these deficiencies and address the causes of non-compliance to prevent the recurrence of similar situations.
