The proposed bridge crossing has been widened compared to the existing bridge.Banks of Pounder Fork Creek have been permanently stabilized
with rip rap.The designer investigated steepening the fill slopes at the UT to Pounder Fork Creek from 2:1 to 1.5:1 in attempt to reduce impacts to the
stream.The steeper fill slopes did not reduce the impacts.The channel has been relocated into a rip rap channel which will provide long term stability
to both the road slope and the stream.

The erosion control plan has been designed in accordance with NCDOT Sediment and Erosion Control Manual.
