Given that there are no jurisdictional impacts associated with this proposal, a written modification of the 401 is not
required. The information you provided is sufficient for our files. However, it is understood that DOT is responsible for
any loss of fill material and it’s subsequent removal from jurisdictional areas.

Hello,

Attached please find a Minor Modification of CAMA Major Permit 45-20 authorizing the following changes to
the design for the temporary construction access at the eastern end of the Replacement for Bridge
138: eliminate the previously authorized temporary work platform in areas that are previously authorized as
permanently impacted fill areas for the new bridge approach; and replace approximately 80 linear feet of the
previously authorized temporary work platform with a temporary fill causeway that is 80 linear feet with a
variable width of 30-60 feet in an area that is located outside of waters of the State and outside of the Neuse
riparian buffer zone.

A paper copy will be sent to NCDOT in Greenville.
