(xi) Any swimming pool 10 feet
(xii) Ferrous sewer pipe with joints equivalent to water main standards, shall be used where these
minimum separations cannot be maintained. The minimum separation shall however not be less
than 25 feet from a private well or 50 feet from a public water supply well;
14. In the event that the facilities fail to perform satisfactorily, including the creation of nuisance conditions, the
Permittee shall take immediate corrective action, including those that may be required by this Division, such
as the construction of additional or replacement wastewater collection facilities.
15. Noncompliance Notification:
The Permittee shall report by telephone to the Mooresville Regional Office, telephone number (704) 663-
1699, as soon as possible, but in no case more than 24 hours or on the next working day following the
occurrence or first knowledge of the occurrence of either of the following:
a. Any process unit failure, due to known or unknown reasons, that render the facility incapable of adequate
wastewater transport such as mechanical or electrical failures of pumps, line blockage or breakage, etc.
b. Any failure of a pumping station or sewer line resulting in a by-pass directly to receiving waters without
treatment of all or any portion of the influent to such station or facility.
Persons reporting such occurrences by telephone shall also file a written report in letter form within five (5)
days following first knowledge of the occurrence. This report must outline the actions taken or proposed to
be taken to ensure that the problem does not recur.

contributing flow provides a velocity exceeding 2 feet per second. High priority lines must be inspected
every six months and cleaned as necessary. These lines will be included in the Charlotte -Mecklenburg Utility
Department individual collection system permit upon issuance.
17. The pressure sewer shall be encased in ductile iron pipe (DIP) and service lines routed beyond the encasement
where the sewer line must be placed within the 100 foot radius of only one well. I case of multiple wells
where radii overlap and DIP is not available, SDR 13.5 PVC pipe (for less than 4-inch diameter) may be used
if tested to water main standards with no leakage and marked with detector tape (per Division variance Ietter
of 4/13/2000).. For Whispering Oaks Drive only, since only one_ well is shown, the plans shall be modified to
reflect DIP encasement and not SDR 13.5 PVC pipe as shown.
4
The following conditions apply to the Whispering Oaks Drive portion of this permit.
18. Calculations completed before the release of final design documents for installation shall indicate that the
downstream sewer has adequate capacity to accept the new wastewater flows expected from this project.
19. The final specifications shall indicate that the leakage test pressure shall be maintained for two hours.
20. All pump stations must be protected from the 100 year flood by installing the pump station so that the top of
the wet well is at least two feet above the flood elevation or by providing a water tight tank with the vent and
all other external controls extending at least two feet above the flood elevation.
