Proje ct No. BRZ-2824(5), T.I.P. Project No. B-4758. Dear Sir: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDO T) proposes to replace Bridge No. 159 over North Buffalo Creek on SR 2824 (Creekview Road). Total impacts to the Jordan Lake riparian buffers will result in 6,320 square fee t of impact to the buffers. Of this, 3,720 square feet are due to bridge and road crossing impact s and are considered allowable. The remaining 2,600 square feet are considered a pa rallel buffer impact to an unnamed tributary to North Buffalo Creek. Mitigation for the parallel impact will be derived from the use of the North Carolina Ecosystem Enha ncement Program. Due to the placement of an interior bent, 50 square feet of impact will occur to North Buffalo Creek. No mitigation is required for this impact. Please see the enclosed copies of the Pre-Constructio n Notification (PCN), EEP acceptance letter, stormwater management plan, buffer i mpact drawings, and roadway design plans for the subject project. A Programmatic Ca tegorical Exclusion (PCE) was completed for this project in February 2012 and distributed sh ortly after completion. Additional copies are available upon request.
