I appreciate your understanding and if you would like to give me a call to discuss further, please don't hesitate. I ment to reference the BPDP not the UMBI.. Brain not in gear.. Sorry.... If we do not have an approved BPDP there is basicly no way for us to submitt a Tree Planting Plan for DWQ approval that would allow GES to plant the project ? We are working hard to complete the BPDP and will submit one asap however there are always unexpected issues, no fault of anyone, that could delay having the BPDP approved before the prime planting season. It would be unfortunate to miss the prime planting season /time ( Mid /Late Feb) as this would give the project a greater chance of tree survival and thus provide the intended benefits to the environment. We will do our best to forward a BPDP for your review as quick as we can.. I am just a bit concerned that a month delay could in fact result in a 12 month delay in project implementation (tree planting ). Just trying to think ahead in an attempt to keep our project moving forward in a timely manner.. Have a great day.. AND AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR YOUR HELP... I am happy to review a BPDP and provide you with comments in order to help you get started. Lia can use the template she used for the BPDP on the LaGrange site. However, no plantings should be conducted without the approval of DWQ. DWQ will review the proposed plant list GES provides in the BPDP and will determine which plants are approved for this bank. Hope this helps. I have a request.. I want you to think of a way GES could plant trees on our Tar Pam site prior to the UMBI being approved.. we are moving along as quickly as we can but have had a couple of weather related set backs which delayed harvest of the corps in our project. This delayed our ability to complete a survey. ( NOTE The survey will be completed today, maps etc..) . As we discussed the reason DWQ no longer allows trees to be planted prior to approval is some projects had preexisting trees on the site which complicated DWQ ability to review / approve mitigation banking projects... DWQ has visited this site twice which documented that no trees are in our project.. My idea is that we would prepare a planting plan which would include maps by tract, soils , topo and Ariel photo.. David has already determined which species should be planted in each tract. ( IE we have approx 8 -10 species selected for this project) . We could get this together fairly quickly as we have everything except the survey maps. Once you guys approved the tree planting plan we would plant the trees. This would ensure that we would not miss this growing season should your office not be able to approve the UMBI by mid March.. ( the latest we would be able to plant trees successfully ). If you can figure a way to allow us to plant trees prior to the UMBI approval this would help us ensue this project is completed by mid spring..
