Sequencing Plan for Installation of 54" RCP at station 177 +29 L
Dear Sir,
We are preparing for installation of the 54" RCP pipe at the permitted site at station 177 +29 (approximately).
The erosion control plans (EC20) do not provide a sequencing plan.
We have discussed our intentions with the Departments inspector on site, which had his previous approval.
Our plan is to continue backfiliing the box culvert at — station 177 to the top of the structure. Currently we
have installed silt fence throughout the permitted site and along the diversion channel.
Our plan is to turn the existing creek into the new box culvert inlet, Then we would install an imperious dike
(see the attached plan) at the location shown to direct any flow from the intermittent stream channel towards the
inlet of the new box culvert. The existing channel is currently in place to direct flow in the general intended direction,
only an imperious dike is required to complete the channelization in the proper direction to permit the RCP
installation. Again, this in an intermittent stream which runs with little or no water except during periods of rainfall.

Once the existing stream and intermittent stream is turned into the new box culvert, and water is directed as
intended through the culvert, work can commence on the 54" RCP line starting at the outlet. Work will continue on
the 54" RCP until complete. When the culvert installation nears the inlet, another impervious dike will be installed
across the intermittent stream at such a location to temporarily stop any minor flow so that the 54" RCP installation
can be completed as designed.
As you are aware, this is a permitted area and work must proceed in a continuous manner. As we are nearing
the completion of the box culvert backfill operations (to an elevation previously noted), the work on the
channelization of the stream through the new box culvert and installation of the impervious dike must start no later
than November 15, 2011 so that work can continue uninterrupted.
We anticipate that the channelization can be completed in 2 days and the 54" RCP installation completed
within 5 days. The material is on site at this time as this was our anticipated sequencing as discussed with the DOT
inspector sometime ago,
Once the RCP installation is complete, the intermittent stream will be channelized through this new pipe and
large scale backfilling operations and fill operations will commence in the permitted area along with associated slope
work and permanent seeding to stabilize the area.
Please acknowledge in a timely manner that you are in agreement with this planned sequencing so that work
can continue as previously planned and approved on site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
