Mr. Johnson and Mr. Roden -Reynolds,
The engineers removed the pipe directly draining to the pond and now stormwater will drain to the pond via an
enhanced grass swale that will provide some water treatment. See the attached site plan.
This is low density development. However, the town still requires that the pond outlet will be updated to meet
their standards and this would require draining the pond to the sediment layer. The current pipe is undersized
and potentially clogged, making the pond currently disconnected from the downstream waters. See the
picture below.
The jurisdiction or use of the pond would not be changed. Directing the water from the cul-de-sac to bypass the
pond would alter the current drainage patterns. Pond A currently receives the majority of the drainage from the
undeveloped site.
