I think your logic is sound… no moratorium for this work. There are good wild trout in Big Horse but
they’re a long ways upstream.

Subject: trout moratorium for upcoming bridge replacement in Lansing on Big Horse Creek

Hey folks,

We have a bridge replacement project coming up on the lower edge of Lansing over Big Horse
Creek. See maps. We are replacing the existing low water bridge with a new bridge, which will be
located just upstream of the existing bridge. There are no instream impacts, other than rip rap. We
recently replaced a bridge upstream on a trib (Old Field Branch) in town with no trout
moratorium. Since there wasn’t a moratorium for that one, and from what I can recollect about trout
presence in lower Big Horse (not thinking there is much), I’m assuming there may not be a moratorium
at this location….but wanted to check to make sure. I can assist with a survey if needed. It will definitely
help us if there isn’t a moratorium, but more than happy to apply one if warranted.

PS - I’ll see Kin and TJ Monday, so will ask them then as well.
