Mr. Jerry Saunders, Permittee, was present during the entire inspection. A review of the available treatment components, records, and irrigation field was completed. This review reflected compliance with the subject permit. The following item of concern was noted: 1. Please ensure that the proper chlorine tablets are used in the system. An information sheet is enclosed that differentiates between available chlorine tablets. Other Observations: • The septic tank was last pumped May 6, 2020. • The spray field had recently been mowed, there was no evidence of ponding or runoff from the spray field. • The Permittee was using pool tablets in the chlorinator. The Permittee stated that the previous inspector said the tablets he was using were appropriate for the system. • There was no evidence that the sand filter was failing or in need or repair (no wet spots or evidence of runoff). • This system experiences low flows as the Permittee and his wife are the only individuals that live there. The Permittee stated that the floats in the pump tank are activated infrequently. • Ms. Caudle did not see the system in operation due to the Permittee recently having a foot surgery. • The Permittee keeps a log book of any maintenance to the system, but mostly records when the spray field is mowed. • Four sprinkler heads are present in the spray field. • The Permittee stated that the house is supplied with fresh water using a well.
