The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources
(DEMLR) has reviewed and approved the revised Section 3.16 Watershed Overlay District of the
ordinance with regard to the request received by our office on July 21, 2021. The Town submitted the
revised ordinance in compliance with the Water Supply Watershed Protection Rules. DEMLR approved
the ordinance in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143-214.5 and North Carolina
Administrative Code 15A NCAC 213 .0100, .0200 and .0623.
