Singleton & Sons, Inc. DENR-LAND QUALITY 920 West Third Street STORMv'ATERPERti91TTING Washington, NC 27889 Prepared by: PARAMOUNTE ENGINEERING, INC. 122 Cinema Drive Wilmington, NC 28403 (910) 791-6707 1 of 2 Pumping Plan Narrative B.E. Singleton is proposing to dewater an existing 38-ac pit located down a gravel road off N. Grimesland Bridge Road about 3500-ft south of the intersection with Sticks Rd. This sand mine dewatering operations and monitoring plan is prepared to satisfy the requirements of Section E listed in the NPDES General Permit NCG020000. The proposed plan for this pit is to pump groundwater through a settling basin that discharges in a non-erosive manner to an adjacent ditch. There are no wetlands flagged currently. The property is in the Tar River Basin just off an unmarked swamp/tributary (B; NSW). During the intermittent dewatering activities, the estimated withdrawal rate in gallons per day will be 1.36 MGD based on a 170,000 GPH Pantego Pump running 8 hrs. There are no residences within 1000-ft of the property so no private wells will be affected. Operations Sequence 1. Ensure all stormwater runoff flows into excavation pit. 2. Construct settling basin. 3. Prior to full dewatering, inspect blind swales and vegetation stabilization. a. Pump shall operate to a maximum of 8-hrs per day and not continuously. b. After dewatering is complete, follow Mining and Reclamation Plans.
