Yes. Ceriodaphnia will be the best organism for Havelock. Will their IWC be the same
as Cherry Point? I think Cherry Point is also 3.5 MGD

Subject: WET Test organism for City of Havelock
Cindy,
Havelock wants to increase flow from 1.9 mgd to 3.5 mgd and relocate their WWTP
discharge outfall from Slocum Creek to the Neuse estuary at a point approximately 1/2
mile East (downstream) of the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point WWTP outfall.
Havelock is currently discharging to a low flow fresh water creek. The Neuse at the
point proposed is classified as SB, SW, NSW. Cherry Point also used to discharge to
Slocum Creek.
Havelock is currently doing WET testing with ceriodaphnia. When Cherry Point
discharged to Slocum Creek they used ceriodaphnia too. Now that they are discharging
to the Neuse in SB waters, they are still using ceriodaphnia.
My question is should Havelock test with ceriodaphnia also, or is something else a
better test organism?
Attached are the present Havelock permit (NC002153) and map, the current Cherry Point
permit (NC0003816) and map showing the discharge point in the Neuse River.
Thank you for your help.
