We also revised the causeway note to reflect note not impeding more than half of the river with the causeways, and remove the note about only one causeway at a time. Dave, If you have any questions when you are back from vacation, let me know. Thanks all for working with us to get the note revised. I’ll get the plan sheet updated to alter the causeway note, and to add the river signing to the plan sheet. Also, I have attached an email that documents the receipt of the conservation payment to WRC. As soon as I get a survey memo from Biological Surveys Group, I’ll pass it along. For now, I have attached an email from them stating that no bats were discovered in their June survey. Barry/Dale, We’ll need to plan sheet revised as discussed in the email below. Let me know if you need anything from me or Daniel to take care of this prior to installing the causeways. I was able to speak with Jay and Janet about this today. We have no issue with the causeways being in place simultaneously, as opposed to staged, as long as their combined presence does not impede more than half of the flow of the river at any time. This was confirmed during in-person discussion at the preconstruction meeting yesterday, and I'm including it again here so that this correspondence can serve as administrative record. Please let me know if further discussion on the matter is needed - happy to join a call. Amy/Holland: Regarding SAW-2020-01998 (NCDOT/NC Highway 704/Bridge 8/Dan River/Stokes County), USACE would be able to replace the plan sheets indicating only one work pad is allowed at a time, in order to rectify some of the construction difficulties expressed yesterday during the preconstruction meeting, provided that USFWS would not need to make any changes to the referenced BO. From the USACE perspective, a new verification is not necessary since the location and amount of fill remain the same as indicated on the verification issued on November 24, 2020. The request is only for 2 the timing of the proposed fill. Additionally, we would request that a River User Safety Plan or Notes also be added to the revised plan sheets. Please call me if you want to discuss, have questions, etc. 919-426-8709.
