RE: SOC Quarterly Report for the period ending September 30, 2020
Moyock Regional WWTP Permit WQ0035706 SOC Update
The format will be, to use previous relevant report bullet points as a baseline, and to expand on those
issues, or eliminate them as satisfied. The latest status, in blue type, is an update on the previous report,
or other issues occurring during this quarter.
• Regional Plant Setbacks
o There have been no setbacks for the regional plant since August
• Regional Plant Repairs/Upgrades
o Blower #1 motor was taken to a rewind shop to be repaired and reinstalled.
o Train B EQtank pump #2 was purchased by the county and reinstalled by Envirolink.
o Spray field dosing tank pump #1 was purchased by the county and installed by
Envirolink.
o Mixer for Pre -Anoxic was purchased by the county and installed by Envirolink.
o All chemical pumps were put back online September 8th and continue to work correctly.
o RAS/WAS pump seals have been replaced and returns are working correctly.
o Filter dosing tank pump #2 was purchased by the county and installed by Envirolink.
o Regional plant is making a turn around. Last sample results received were all in
compliance except for ammonia which was 11.9 mg/I and total nitrogen which was 64.9
mg/I.
o Efforts continue to get regional plant in compliance by operating it correctly and making
small changes to help in the treatment process.
• Spray Field
o Freeboard compliance continues to be a challenge in the infiltration basin.
o Crews have worked to disc and break up the sand to aid in the filtering process as well
as using hand augers to help aid the filtration process.
o The free board has been recorded on a weekly basis as per the SOC agreement.
o Freeboard was recorded as follows:
■ July 1st = 1.2'
■ July 2nd = 1.6'
■ July 3rd =1.5'
■ July 4th = 1.3'
■ July 5th =1.0'
■ August 1st = 2.0'
■ August 2nd = 1.0'
■ August 3rd = 1.1'
■ August 4th = 0.6'
■ September 1st = 1.1'
■ September 2nd = 0.8'
■ September 3rd = 0.8'
■ September 4th = 1.0'
■ September 5th = 0.9'
• Mobile Plant
o The mobile plant PLC screen was replaced and found to be nonoperational. A3
Solutions was notified and a new screen has been ordered.
o The plant has not been in operation, while the ORC has tried to get the regional plant
into compliance and sustain that level of treatment.
o All piping to the mobile plant continues to be in place and can be utilized at any time for
additional treatment.
