The Municipal Unit of the Division of Water Resources has reviewed the Industrial User Pretreatment Permit
(IUP) submitted for renewal by the City of Kings Mountain for the following Significant Industrial User (SIU).
The final corrected part of the IUP submission was received by the Division on 07/28/2021.

The review indicates that due to a potential over allocation for Silver, the Division will need to further evaluate
the potential over allocation prior to determining the adequacy of the IUP. Therefore, as allowed by 15A NCAC
2H .0917 (g), the Division's thirty -day comment period will be suspended until the HWA review is completed,
and at that time the full 30-day comment period will recommence. You are encouraged to notify the affected
industries of the extension of the Division's comment period.
Federal and State pretreatment regulations require the local delegated pretreatment program to effectively control
and document the discharge of wastewater from Significant/Categorical Industrial Users to the POTW. It is the
POTW's responsibility to ensure that these objectives are consistently met.
