Piedmont 5 B pipeline project construction update
Folks, we finally began the West end of the project last week on 5- 29 -13. 1 just wanted to send you a construction update early on in the process. As we
discussed, I will send one out every two weeks as well.
Clearing / commenced on 5 -29 at the LNG plant on Harper House Road moving East. The front end clearing crew is currently at station 349 +00,
Wetlands 209 and 210 and Stream 204 West of TAR #10. The back end clearing crews are chipping and grinding up to Wetland 107, West of Wiliford
Road.
Grade / commenced on 5 -31 -13 at the LNG plant moving East. The front end of grade is currently East of TAR #2A at station 104 +00.
Environmental / presently one crew operating between clearing and grade. All wetlands and waterbodies up to Wetland 206, East of Mill Creek have
ECD's installed. Although the one crew is presently keeping up, I have recommended to Price - Gregory to bring on another one as the work progresses.
At this point in time there are no HDD's in operation.
Welders are being tested in the construction yard and as soon as grade moves out a few more miles, pipe stringing will commence, then welding and
coating followed by ditch and lower in of pipe.
