Subject: Woodlake, Issues related to Tropical Storm Andrea
FYI:
Mr. Alan Daniels with Aqua called in (at 4:26) to report that they were dealing with the aftermath of Tropical Storm
Andrea.
The report was that they are pumping and hauling from pump stations 5 & 6 to the WWTF to prevent a SSO.
The pumping was to take the pressure off of the system as pump stations 5 & 6 were the most remote and would have
to pump against the pressure from the other pumps stations.
The waste was taken to the WWTF.
Also he reported that they had cut the aeration back to allow the solids to settle in the WWTF.
This action would help prevent solids loss to the receiving stream.
He noted that they have put a number of rain guards in manholes. Several streets where the rain guards had been
installed were flooding. We discussed that Woodlake may have to modify sight drainage to prevent inflow into the
system. -
He will call back if there is anything further to report.
(I will put a copy of this notice in the Woodlake NPDES and Collection System files.
