Pamlico County, south side of SR1308, approximately 1000' west of the bridge
over Greens Creek and is adjacent to Shop Gut and Greens Creek near Oriental.
Proposed Project: Proposes to expand an existing upland basin, construct dockage for 108 additional
slips, and construct additional infrastructure at Pecan Grove Marina. .

Subject: CAMA Dredge /Fill Permit Application for Cox Family Properties, LLC (Pecan
Grove Marina)
Pamlico County, North Carolina
Date: May 16, 2007
On April 23, 2007 the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received the subject CAMA/Dredge &
Fill permit application for review. The application has proposed impacts to expand the existing
upland basin through construction of 108 additional slips and construct additional infrastructure
at Pecan Grove Marina. This Office objects to the subject project as currently proposed and .
request additional information.
This Office requests a dissolved oxygen model for the existing and proposed expansion of the
marina. Data that was provided with the permit application is insufficient and does not address
dissolved oxygen levels" within the marina.
Construction of the proposed upland marina will require the restoration of a 50 foot buffer
around the marina in accordance with 15A NCAC 02B .0233 Neuse Buffer Rules. It is required
that the applicant receive Authorization Certification and a Buffer Restoration Plans be
submitted to the Division for approval.
