Proposed Project: Proposes to expand an existing upland basin, construct dockage for 108 additional slips, and construct additional infrastructure at Pecan Grove Marina. . Please indicate below your agency's position or viewpoint on the proposed project and return this form by May 11, 2007. REPLY: This agency has no objection to the project as proposed. This agency has no comment on the proposed project. This agency approves of the project only if the recommended changes are incorporated. See attached. This agency objects to the project for reasons described-in the attached comments. Scheller, Senior Environmental Specialist Washington Regional Office To: Doug Huggett, Major Permits Processing Coordinator Division of Coastal Management North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Subject: CAMA Dredge /Fill Permit Application for Cox Family Properties, LLC (Pecan Grove Marina) Pamlico County, North Carolina Date: May 16, 2007 On April 23, 2007 the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received the subject CAMA/Dredge & Fill permit application for review. The application has proposed impacts to expand the existing upland basin through construction of 108 additional slips and construct additional infrastructure at Pecan Grove Marina. This Office objects to the subject project as currently proposed and . request additional information. This Office requests a dissolved oxygen model for the existing and proposed expansion of the marina. Data that was provided with the permit application is insufficient and does not address dissolved oxygen levels" within the marina. Construction of the proposed upland marina will require the restoration of a 50 foot buffer around the marina in accordance with 15A NCAC 02B .0233 Neuse Buffer Rules. It is required that the applicant receive Authorization Certification and a Buffer Restoration Plans be submitted to the Division for approval.
