Hi Simon,
We will need a letter of some kind from the ToSC/property owner stating that they are accepting
responsibility for any remaining measures still in place.
Thanks,
Lauren

Hello Lauren,
This was a grant funded project with the funding awarded to the Piedmont Conservation Council (PCC). The
PCC bought these parcels and coordinated the restoration work with the Town of Siler City (ToSC) under an
agreement that the PCC would give the property to the ToSC to operate it as a park or similar open space
following the completion of restoration activities.
The ToSC requested to keep the construction entrance and the silt fence to facilitate vehicle access to the site
and prevent traffic from going down the embankment. The public can access the site at this location, park, and
walk to the educational sign located in the background of your first photo. People are able to view down upon
the floodplain and learn about ecosystem restoration and the importance of floodplains.
Will we be able to achieve project close out with these measures in place?
Thank you,
SG

Hi Simon,
i
Myself and another inspector visited the site on Friday. Projects are eligible for closeout once all temporary
measures have been removed and permanent ground cover has reached approximately 80% coverage. It looks
like the temporary construction entrance and some silt fence are still present. Once all temporary measures
have been removed and the disturbed area stabilized, you can send some photos of these areas and I will send
the closeout inspection report.
Thanks,
Lauren
