Stormwater Tiered Response Actions
Dear Mr. Moore:
As per permit NCG030000, the facility is required to contact the DEMLR Regional Engineer upon four
occasions of exceedances of the permitted benchmark values. Outfall 003 has exceeded the copper
benchmark on four occasions. CommScope has performed facility inspections on a routine basis and is
working towards solutions to reduce potential pollutant sources stored outside. The finished products
produced at the facility are large and contain metals; therefore, finding storage inside or under cover is
challenging. Copper processing occurs in the South Building at the facility. The facility is reviewing the
production process to confirm that copper particulates are not tracked outside during loading operations.
The facility will continue monthly stormwater monitoring until instructed otherwise (weather
permitting).
