ISAAC PARKER RECEIVED JUL 14 2021 DENR-LAND QUALITY STORNIVVATER PERMITTING Please find included the draft Stormwater Management Plan and self -audit report items that were required by the Notice of Violation. We appreciate your help in reaching compliance with our MS4 permit. We are working with consultants to help implement the plan, and develop policies and procedures to help our Town maintain MS4 permit compliance. In 2018, the Town had a population of 3,844. Growth opportunities will certainly continue to increase the population quickly. We have learned that in doing our daily tasks, we performing work that meets conditions of our permit. We, simply, did not correlate those duties to task necessary to MS4 permit compliance. As we have discussed, the Town has been significantly impacted by large storm events in the past, including Hurricane Matthew. As a result, we are working with FEMA and environmental consultants on the daylighting and restoration of a stream and incorporating water quality into the flood mitigation project. If state and federal funding is available, the Town desires to develop an outdoor educational park where the stream will be restored and daylighted. We are also constructing a new public works facility that will allow for many materials and most equipment to be stored under rooftop. It will also include a washbay equipped with oil/sand separators to ensure clean water discharges. Again, thank you for your assistance. If additional information is needed, please reach out to me at my office at (919)894-3553 or at trobbins@townofbenson.com. Sincerely, Tim Robbins Director of Public Works and Utilities
