Mr. and Mrs Benson:
I am writing you to verify that you grant me permission to perform repairs needed on my property
to prevent additional soil erosion in the area behind my pool and pool deck. The repair itself will
entail the removal of a sharp bend in the stream to divert the flow of water away from my pool,
and the reestablishment of the stream banks using natural methods approved by the Division of
Water Quality(DWQ).
The majority of the relocated stream section will be on your property at the project's completion.
The engineering firm of record, Geoscience and Technology of Winston-Salem (896-1300),NC
is working to obtain the permits required by the NC State Division of Water Quality and the US
Army Corp of Engineers. The permits cannot be issued until letters granting permission to
relocate the stream are received from all affected property owners.
The engineer of record will be periodically overseeing the construction to verify that the project is
being constructed per the approved plans. A final inspection will be performed by NCDWQ.
I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter. Please sign and date this letter at your
convenience and contact me so that I or the engineer can stop by to pick it up. I have attached
preliminary plans for your review. Once the permission letters are received by NCDWQ, final
permits can be issued. I would be happy to forward an approved set of plans as well as a copy of
the NCDWQ approval letter for your records prior to commencing construction.
Sincerely, ..`'

The relocated stream section will be on the Benson's property(5031 Stock Dale Place) upon the
project's completion, but there may be a small amount of disturbance to the stream bank on your
property as the contractor reinforces the stream bank and access the work area. The contractor
intends to access the work area via my driveway, by creating a temporary access road between
my pool house and your property line.Any disturbed area will be repaired to your satisfaction as
