Dear Mr. Gilmore:
Subject: Relocation of Service Road (SR 1126) near the intersection of US 15-501
and Garrett Road (SR 1116) and addition of a left turn lane from
southbound US 15-501 onto Garrett Road with an additional westbound
receiving lane on Garrett Road in Durham County. State Project No.
9.8059077 T.I.P. No. U-4009
In a letter dated December 31, 2003, the North Carolina Department of Transportation
requested that the North Carolina Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP) provide
compensatory mitigation for impacts related to this project. Calculated project impacts
have decreased since the submittal of the above mentioned letter was submitted. Project
impacts are currently calculated at 0.075 acres of wetland impacts and 45 feet of stream
impacts, and thus will not require compensatory mitigation. By way of this letter we are
requesting that EEP cancel the request to provide compensatory mitigation for the
project.
