The City of Raleigh proposes to improve Carolina Pines Avenue from
Lake Wheeler Road to South Saunders Street in Raleigh, NC. The
proposed project involves the construction of approximately 1.19
miles of roadway widening. The project includes the addition of curb
and gutter, a 6-foot sidewalk on the north side of the road, and a 10-
foot multi -use path to the south. Other enhancements to this roadway
include intersection improvements to Lake Wheeler Road and
Carolina Pines Avenue and the addition of roundabouts at the
intersections of Carolina Pines Ave with Oak Road and Granite
Street. The project also includes a boardwalk constructed over the
pond between Henslowe Drive and Oleander Road. The project is
located within the Neuse River Basin.
