The final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed
and found to be satisfactory. Authorization is hereby granted for the construction
of wastewater treatment plant modifications consisting of changing an existing basin
into an activated sludge treatment basin; the addition of two (2) 40 HP aerators;
relocation of four (4) 40 HP mixers into the new aeration basin; tw (2) new 80-foot
diameter clarifiers; a new waste sludge pump station with two (2) 1,750 GPM return
pumps, two (2) 880 GPM waste pumps, and a scum pump; a new stormwater pump station
with dual 2,000 GPM pumps; a polymer feed system; and associated piping and valves
to serve Martin Marietta-Sodyeco Division Plant.
This is a Class III Wastewater Treatment Facility and the person in responsible
charge must hold a valid Grade III Certificate.
This Authorization to Construct shall be subject to revocation unless the waste-
water treatment facilities are constructed in accordance with the conditions and limi-
tations specified in Permit No. NC0004375.
If applicable, enclosed is a copy of WPC Form #50 "Cost of Wastewater Treatment
Works." This form is to be completed and returned to this office within thirty (30)
days after the project is completed.
One (1) set of approved plans and specifications is being forwarded to you.
