F=PPOInNA; OFFICE Dear North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality: On April 1, 2021 our farm was out of hogs in House #2. I had recently purchased the farm and we were trying to clean it up. Because of high lagoon levels, the farm had not been washed down properly in two turns. There was some solid material in the pit of house #2 that broke up and flowed down the pipe that goes to the lagoon and stopped up. In turn, the water backed up in house #2 and leaked out of a crack in the foundation. When this occurred and found out, I got there as quick as possible, stopped the flow, and stopped up the ditch so it couldn't go any further. I used pumps and pumped water back out of the ditch into the lagoon. After this incident occurred, we fixed the cracks in the foundation, cleaned out the pit, and adjusted the recycle timer where it is only running when someone is on the farm. Sincerely, Kenneth Raynor
