Good morning, Barry,
I wanted to send a confirmation that this outfall was added into our system. We had to wait until all the COCs had
renewed in our database system successfully (we had several hundred under multiple General Permits, and it took some
weeks for everything to flip over). I entered it this morning. Below is a screen shot for your records.

Bethany,
Our containment pad has been poured. There is still some work to be done on the discharge piping and valves. I have
determined the location of the outfall which will be sampled and added it (or attempted to) on the Outfall Collector
Form on-line. However, when I go back in and turn the layer on I cannot see it. The receiving water body will be the
same as our other outfalls: Fourth Creek.
Please advise if you can see the new outfall off of the NE corner of the building at 188 Side Track Dr. in Statesville. I was
going to copy the coordinates but I cannot get it to turn on through the layer function.
Thanks,
Barry Sparks

Hi, Barry,
Yes, you've covered most of the important steps. One other thing to do:
Notify us of the new outfall name and lat/Ion coordinates, and verify that it discharges to the same receiving waterbody
as the others. We'll need to add it to our system so it will appear in a-DMR when the time comes. You can send that
information to me.
Regards,
Bethany

Good morning Bethany,
Can you provide some guidance on what we need to do concerning the tanker containment pad? This project was
postponed at the time but is underway now. The best I can remember I was instructed to:
Add it to our SWPPP and define how we will inspect rainwater before releasing it.
Add one outfall for the facility and sample it along with our other 2.
Notify when construction is complete in case someone wants to come and inspect.
Thank you,
Barry Sparks

Hi, Barry,
Yes, the COCs will be automatically renewed, but the new general permit is not being issued until July 1. We renewed
the GP "as is" for a short time to conclude the public comment period. The best thing to do is check our website for
updates on that here:
https://deg.nc.gov/about/divisions/energy-mineral-land-resources/npdes-stormwater-gps#ncg090000:-paints-and-
varnishes,-effective-11-1-2018,-expires-6-30-2021
I cannot find any record of communication about a proposed containment pad. The attached email from 2019 had to do
with sampling. I try to add communications about questions like that to our Laserfiche repository, so it's a good idea to
check our public Laserfiche General Permits directory in your permit file for correspondence records. I don't remember
the details about this topic, though, so either I didn't put it in here, or you asked another staff member.
You'll also find a copy of the letter we sent out last month about general permit renewals and e-DMR registration, so be
sure to take a look there. The letter for NCG090023 went to the legally responsible person who is in Ohio, but you can
access a copy to get the information.
Here's a snapshot of the NCG09 info:
NCGO90000: Paints and Varnishes, Effective 11-1- 01 .
Expires - - 021
Applies to SIC 265 and l+ke actrvrfres arWor exposures
NCG09 General Permr(C (effective Navember 1. 018)
NCGO9 Rerssuel Cover Pag ly, 0 - updated(reissued to expire on ,June 30, 2021)
Prapo,ed Graft to Public, Notice (commerit period ends 6/16/201)
Renevwaf information MR be sent out in Spring 2021. Permittees should review contact
information using the Permit contact Summary Repgrt Z and ensure that all fees are up to
date (billing infornmabon is on the first page of the report). If contact cNnges are necessary:
please follow the instructions in the "Howe to Update Permit Data" section of our websa[p_
COCs that do not owe fees will be automatically renewed: and renewal COGS will be
available after the revised general permit is issued in July 2021
I hope this information helps!

Good afternoon Bethany,
Can you tell me if NC Stormwater permits were/are being renewed automatically this year? I was making changes to our
SWPPP plan and noticed ours expired 5/31/2021. Please advise on what I need to do to either renew or get a copy of
the renewed permit. NCG090023 COC became effective for this site on 11/1/2018.
Also, I think I communicated with you in early 2020 or perhaps the latter part of 2019 about a proposed tanker
containment pad being added to our facility. Unfortunately, Sherwin Williams automatically deletes emails after one
year so I have lost all of that communication. I need to revisit and find out what I need to do with respect our permit,
new outfall, SWPPP etc.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Thanks!
