'Iv.125.105 ft force main)and 28 regularly maintained pump stations. Domestic sewage flows into an 830,000 gallon per day Treatment Facility where it is properly treated for discharge into the Lower Little River. The WWTP consists of one micro-screening device for solids removal,INF pumping station for grit removal and washing units,Lime feed system for pH control, two(2)415,000 gallon aeration basins for BOD5 and NH removal,two(2)45 foot diameter Clarifiers for settling solids,two(2)CL2 chambers for water disinfection,and one(1)SO2 chamber to reduce CL2 levels in treated water. Also, there are four(4)aerobic digesters which treat an average of 1.2 million gallons of sludge per year for land application. Each process operated efficiently throughout this fiscal year. The Effluent has been compliant with state regulations each month. Text summary of System Performance for the fiscal year 2020-2021. The sewer system is effectively maintained and operated at all times to prevent improper_discharge to land or surface waters. A map of the sewer system has been developed and actively updated. An operation and maintenance plan has been developed and implemented. A general observation of the entire sewer system is conducted at a least once per year Inspection and maintenance records are kept for a period of five (5)years. Also,any overflows or bypasses(SSO's)are reported_to our division regional office in accordance to 15A NCAC 28.0506(a)as well as public notification(as needed). - The Town's Sewage Collection System operated efficiently with onlyminor clogs thatwere quickly unstopped to prevent SSO's. The WWTP surr.ecsfully removed over 99%of organic biological contaminants,and over 90%of the Gettable solids from the wastewater throughout the year and produced a clear-clean water to introduce into the receiving stream SevenJ])_SSO's were reported for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. (5)-This event occurred 11-12-2020 at Fairway Oaks Pump Station spilling 18,000(according to scada estimates)into Lower Little River.The resulting spill was cleaned up and no fish kill was observed.The 550 was properly reported to NC DWR 6-This event occurred 1-8-2021 at 1190 Paul Payne Store Road spilling 280.000(according to scada estimates)into Glade Creek.The resulting spill was cleaned up and no fish kill was observed.The SSO was properly reported to NC DWR (7)-This event occurred 1-18-2021393 Northwood Park spilling 14.000laccording to scada estimates)into Muddy Fork.The resulting spill was cleaned and no fish kill was observed,the SSO was properly reported to NC DWR All incidents of SSO's(if any)are reported to the State Division of Water Quality(DWO)in Mooresville as regulations require,and repairs and cleanup performed also per stringent state regulations. This report will be published In the local newspaper and the public will be advised that copies will be available at the Town Hall.
