The project should not impact wild trout reproduction and a trout moratorium is not needed for this project revision. However, the applicant proposes to use HDPE material for the culverts. We recommend against using HDPE material, as this slick material is less likely to hold stream substrate and provide for movement of aquatic organisms like fish and salamanders.
