Send all suspicious email as an attachment to ire{a.'1-t-_1;•- _' - :.: _: - Michael, In response to your e-mail which includes Bryan Lievre's comments below, I modified the application figures for the proposed lactate injection at the Former Modern Dry Cleaners site. I prepared a larger site map that shows the existing wells only and a separate site map that shows the existing wells with the abandoned wells. I don't have information on all the abandoned wells since these were installed/abandoned by previous consultants before I became involved in this project and as such, I only labeled the abandoned wells I know about. I fixed the figures as per Bryan's e-mail below. I also prepared a larger injection plan figure, but kept it separate from the monitoring plan figure (also attached) to make it easier to see. Monitor Well MW-WSP-6D would be the down gradient well while Monitor Well MW-WSP-1D would be utilized as the upgradient monitor well. Also, there will be several monitor wells within the injection zone that will not be injected into, but used solely for monitoring purposes. We could install an additional monitor well 2 , downgradient of MW-WSP-2XD on the berm between the parking spaces and the sidewalk adjacent to Oleander Drive, if desired. In response to Bryan's second bullet point, the drilling contractor (Cascade Drilling) used hole plug (3/8 inch sodium bentonite pellets) to seal the deeper portions of the borehole. The deeper drilling was conducted within the tight silt/clay aquitard sequence and was filled -in with the hole plug material. I sent Cascade's well records for the new well installations in a previous e-mail to you as requested. In response to Bryan's third bullet point, attached is an e-mail from the property contact, which includes documentation regarding the ownership of the Former Modern Dry Cleaners Site and the Independence Mall. Please feel free to call me on my cell phone (see below) to discuss any additional questions or comments you may have. Thanks for your help with this. Also as we discussed yesterday, please provide an injection zone map with monitoring wells identified that are included in the monitoring plan, and address the following comments/requests per Bryan Lievre: • Updated site map for the following reasons: ➢ Reason 1 - Labels on well covers indicated well MW-WSP-1 S is north of MW-WSP- 4D; ➢ Reason 2 - MW-5D & MW-5S are further north of MW-WSP-1XD; and ➢ Reason 3 - existing or former wells just north of MW-3S not identified on maps (esp Fig 2 which reportedly depicts former well locations). • Information within the application indicates that the borehole for well MW-WSP-2XD was drilled to a depth of 79 feet below grade. However, the well was constructed with a screen interval at 30 to 40 feet, below grade. Of concern would be the possibility to allow contaminated shallow groundwater to enter deeper zones if the borehole 3 was not properly grouted below the bottom of the screened interval. Similar issues might be present for wells MW-3D, MW-WSP-1D, MW-WSP-4D, MW-WSP-1XD and MW-WSP-5D. Please provide clarification and assurances there will be no impacts. • It has been stated that Brookfield Properties is the parent company of the Modern Dry Cleaners and Laundry property (i.e. RPI 3750 LLC) as well as the surrounding property (RSE Independence LLC). This information has not been corroborated. Please provide some documentation confirming ownership. Feel free to contact Bryan directly to address concerns 910-796-7215.
