Home My WebLink About15_Industrial Facility Inspection ReportMEMORANDUM TO: SV IT11 Filc — NPDES Permit No. NCS000201 n FRO,NI: Sharon \IN-crs, C.'NC-C:H Ftivironmental Compliance Officer Date: December 18, 2020 Ile: Facility Inspection This inspection was carried out by Sharon \Iyers on December 18, 2020. :areas inspected included the exterior and loading dock of the Hazardous Materials Facility (the permitted facility), Radiation Building loading dock, Surplus Property yard, l :nviro timunt, 1Icalth and Safery Building loading dock, diesel storage COnVault, Facilities Services Shops exterior areas, General Storeroom loading docks, 185 storage tank, parking areas, transformers, Office of Waste RedUCtiOn and IZeCN-Clillg empty Container storage area and the exterior of the Service Station. Spill containment Areas, fuel storage egUlplllent, CClttlpment and Chemical storage areas, inalnten"It1Ce areas, parking lots, s-%vales, convc\"allccs, storm xvatcl' inlets and jUnCtlon boles were vlstlally inspected for staining or odors that WOUld indicate spills or leaks. Therc was no evidence of significant spills or leaks of pollutants at the permitted facilinv or adjacent areas. The lI,NIF I"acility, Service Station and F85 Tank had spill kits available nearby. The diesel storage Convault spill kit was not located nearby. A nevv spill kit needs to be placed beside the Cliesel storage Convatllt. There were no areas of exposed soils due to construction activities. "Three nlop buckets were being stored outside of the Sen-ice Station. The Service Station i\Ianager has been contacted about storing the buckets inside. At the Grounds iilaintenance Storage Area, there were several radiators being stored outside, and storage cabinets (for stlzall gasoline can storage and pesticide storage) were being stored outside. The Grotlnds Departillent Director has been contacted about the proper storage of these ltenls.
