We are asking for authorization to move forward with installing two, 5-pile clusters to the right of the two davit piles. When vessels pull into the tie-up slips they have been going too far forward and running into the piles that will support the davits. If left as is we believe damage to both piles and dock decking is imminent. Installing the two, 5-pile clusters will stop the vessels from travelling into the davit piles. The attached photo shows the two piles that are in need of protection, the "Cluster Additions" attachment shows the proposed location of the clusters, and the "S0-4 Export" from the final drawings is attached for additional reference on design/location. Unfortunately, at this stage of the dock construction we need to install these clusters as soon as possible and are asking for written authorization so that the contractor can install them before significant damage occurs. We would like to move forward with the installation within the next couple days while the contractor is on site. Please let me know if you need any additional information and what additional steps I need to take for getting authorization to move forward with this work.
