Location/Description of Proposed Activity: The site is located immediately east of the University Drive,South
Church Street(US Highway 70)intersection in Burlington,Alamance County,North Carolina. Latitude
36.0795 Longitude-79.525. This proposed project is for the removal of an existing dam/pond and the
restoration of a stream channel and adjacent wetlands.

REMARKS:
Please provide the following information:
1. The wetland delineation you submitted appears to be a sketch map with approximate
boundaries. Furthermore, there is more than one sketch of the existing wetland area(Section
3, Figure 5 and Section 7, Map attached to April 16, 2008, ECS letter) and these sketches are
not the same. Also, a review of a recent aerial photograph indicates that additional wetlands
may be located along the northern edge and the southeastern edge of the westernmost pond.
The Nationwide Permit General Conditions-number 31(b)(4) states the delineation must be
prepared in accordance with the current methods required by the Corps. The current method
requires that the delineation should accurately depict the limits of Corps jurisdiction.
Typically, this is accomplished by utilization of GPS and/or survey equipment. Please
provide an updated delineation of the jurisdictional areas.
2. Please indicate the proposed amount of stream, wetland and open water impacts associated
with this project on your Pre-Construction Notification (PCN). Proposed impact amounts

listed on the PCN as S 1, S2, W 1, W 1, etc. should correspond to labels on your proposed
project map. Additionally, these impact areas should be clearly marked on the corresponding
project map/plans.
3. Your project plan does not indicate the amount or type of vegetation that will planted within
the restoration area. Please update your plan to include this information.
