Subject: Comments on Restoration Plans
Wolf Pond Stream Restoration Site -Union County (20070896)
601 West Stream Restoration Site -Union County (20070911)
601 North Stream Restoration Site -Union County (20070913)
Kimley-Horn and Associates/EBX -Full-Delivery Project to EEP
Two of the three sites (Wolf Pond and 601 West were visited by Periann Russell an me on
6/19/07. Re: my comments in memos dated 5/23/07. The proposed relocation/Priority 1
restorations on these sites appears warranted.
Aerial photos appeared to show portions of the proposed restoration reaches having wooded
buffers. The vegetated areas along the streams consist of poor-quality woody vegetation,
including small trees, brush, briars and exotic species. We have no objection regarding the
removal of the existing vegetation as part of the stream restoration.
Todd St. John is to provide addenda to the restoration plans showing depressional wetland areas
that will receive water from ditches/ephemeral drainageways through the agricultural fields.
These depressional areas should provide some treatment and improve water quality.
We recommend issuance of all three of these projects
