SR 2507 is a new alignment and there is no existing culvert. The structure is proposed to be a double 8’x5’ reinforced concrete box culvert (RCBC) parallel with the existing channel, which is skewed 67.2-degrees to SR 2507. SR 2507 is a local road. Per Table 7-1 from the 2016 NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design, the design storm is the 25-year event. However, the critical flow in designing this crossing is the 100year. The structure was sized to prevent future flooding of the upstream America’s Best Value Inn Smithfield in this eventDrainage through the project has also been updated to meet required design storms including under the -L- , -Y1- and the ramps.Buffer Rules in Effect:SANone13,600I-95 North and Southbound: (2)-12' lanes with a 4' inside shoulder and 10' outside shoulder. 40' shoulders under the US 70 Bus bridge.US 70 Bus/Market Street: Divided four lane highway; 14' outside lanes, 12' inside lanes.
