Mr. Tankard,
This letter is in response to the NOV's received by the Town of La Grange WWTP dated January 26,
2021.
In reference to the NOV for the July 2020 monitoring report (Total Flow). I have corrected the DMR
by inserting the Total Flow into its column, the DMR has been revised and uploaded to the eDMR
monthly report.
Sorry for the oversight.
In reference to the NOV's for (Total Phosphorus) May 16-July 4, during this period we were having a
difficult time trying to keep the Phosphorous under control biologically. I had several conversations with
Mr. Mays to keep him updated and for technical assistance. Throughout the process he was helpful in
making suggestions as to our next steps to remedy the problem. Unfortunately, we were unable to
perform in house analysis and it takes a couple weeks for us to get our results back for this
parameter. As we made operational changes we had to wait a couple of weeks to see if what we were
doing was having a positive effect. Eventually, we were able to find a way to get an estimated Total
Phosphorous reading on a daily basis with a color wheel test. By making operational changes, the
addition of Liquid Alum, and with having estimated daily test results we were able to get the Total
Phosphorous within the acceptable limits. As of today, we haven't had a Phosphorous reading outside
of acceptable limits since the unacceptable July 4th results.
Thanks,
Wesley Sutton
